Disc Collaboration

The Disc rug collaboration was inspired by abstracting California farming landscapes, the linear plantings of vineyards and vegetable farms that populate the hillsides of California. This mixture of linear elements in combination with negative spaces alludes to the sharp contrasts between barren earth and cultivated landscapes. The color palettes were inspired by “the golden hour” and working with an earthy color palette of muted blues, greens, and brown tones.
Disc also drew inspiration from “Dansaekhwa” a movement of Korean minimalists paintings from the 1970’s, a movement inspired by neutral hues and organic shapes and textures.
