CARE GUIDE

COMMON CONCERNS

VACUUMING

Use the handheld attachment to vacuum your rug. Do not use high powered vacuums with beater bars. These will pull threads out of the rug.

RUG PAD

A rug pad extends the life of your rug by absorbing wear and tear.

SPROUTS

Loose fibers are common in rugs, clip them carefully with scissors. Do not pull by hand.

CREASES IN RUG

Creases are caused by folding rugs. These will disappear in a week or two once the rug is laid flat. Try carefully reverse rolling the rug to settle creases.

ODOR

Rugs recently removed from packing may have a natural fiber odor. This will dissipate in a week or so.

SHEDDING

Rugs may naturally shed loose fibers. This will dissipate during the first couple of months.

FADING

Rugs placed in direct sunlight will fade colors out over time. Rotate rugs periodically to balance fading throughout and avoid placing near windows.

WEAR

Rotate rugs every three to six months to balance the wear in high traffic areas.

SPOT CLEANING

If you spill on a rug, clean it immediately. Once the stain is set in it becomes more difficult to clean. Never rub a spill as it forces it deeper into the rug. Blot out stain as much as possible with a dry towel. Avoid using excessive water. A wet wipe can be used for small stains. Professional cleaning is highly recommended for deep stains.
