CARE GUIDE

COMMON CONCERNS

Proper care techniques enhance the longevity and appearance of your rug. Here are common practices for maintaining our rugs:

VACUUMING

Regular Vacuuming: Regularly vacuum to remove debris and dirt that can damage rug fibers.

Handheld Attachments: Use handheld vacuum attachments to avoid pulling fibers. Avoid high-powered vacuums with beater bars.

RUG PAD

Use a Rug Pad: Always use a rug pad to absorb wear and tear, prevent fiber crushing, and stop dirt and debris from accumulating beneath the rug.

LOOSE FIBERS

Clip Loose Fibers: Carefully clip loose fibers with scissors near the pile line. Do not pull them by hand.

RUG CREASES

Addressing Creases: Creases caused by folding will soften over time once laid flat. Reverse rolling and light steaming, depending on the fiber, can help. Test a small area first and never fully soak the fibers.

ODOR

Natural Fiber Odor: Rugs recently removed from packaging may have a natural fiber odor, which will dissipate over time, especially in areas with higher use and better airflow.

SHEDDING

Rugs may naturally shed loose fibers. This will dissipate during the first couple of months.

FADING

Prevent Fading: Direct sunlight will fade rug colors over time. Rotate rugs periodically to balance fading and avoid placing them near windows when possible.

WEAR

Balance Wear: Rotate rugs every three to six months to balance wear in high-traffic areas.

SPOT CLEANING

If you spill on a rug, clean it immediately. Once the stain is set in it becomes more difficult to clean. Never rub a spill as it forces it deeper into the rug. Blot out stain as much as possible with a dry towel. Avoid using excessive water. A wet wipe can be used for small stains. Professional cleaning is highly recommended for deep stains.
